An Olympic Tribute
Olympians are a significant product of the University of Colorado. Its first Olympian, David B. Bolen, competed in track and field in 1948 during his time as a student at the University He went on to become a US ambassador to many nations and led a life of great distinction.
This exhibit is located at the University of Colorado’s Heritage Center Museum. It honors past Olympians and allows for expansion for future athletes to be recognized. Additional etched glass disks can be installed onsite. The design is inspired by Olympic medals and uses the official Olympic colors in a ribbon form which both takes advantage to the timeline-like quality and does not violate use of the official Olympic rings. Studio Tectonic provided design and construction administration.
