Town of Windsor Interpretive Signage Standards

Located in Northern Colorado, the Town of Windsor is home to over 200-acres of park space. In addition to trails that weave throughout the town and along the Cache la Poudre River and Lake Windsor, the town has several historic sites of interest. Windsor’s current interpretation ranged from recent to decades old, and in wide ranging quality, appropriateness, and utility. Seeing the need for a comprehensive approach to wayside systems, the town engaged Studio Tectonic to create a Wayside and Interpretive Guidelines standard to serve as a foundational framework. This structured approach to the creation of wayside and other specialty interpretive signage will allow for consistency in appearance, style, and messaging. Graphical standards, installation and manufacturing design, and interpretive purpose frameworks we developed.

Using the Town of Windsor brand standards as a base, the Guidelines ensure that new interpretive signage will coordinate with other Town of Windsor informational and regulatory signage.

TOWN OF WINDSOR

The Windsor History Museum features historic buildings built between 1882 and the 1920s. It’s one of several locations in Windsor that will benefit from a consistent approach to wayside signage.
