Studio Tectonic was awarded the design of both a Placemaking Master Planning effort and a Rebranding Initiative for the Niagara Falls National Heritage Area.

Over the course of two site visits to the Niagara Falls area in the winter and spring of 2022, Studio Tectonic engaged in a Placemaking Master Planning effort that will guide the implementation of projects throughout the National Heritage Area. After identifying themes, threads, and unique aspects of each location identified as a placemaking opportunity, a layered hierarchy was created to address ongoing and future needs to connect with visitors and raise the visibility of the National Heritage Area.
While completing the Placemaking Master Planning analysis, limitations with the NFNHA’s current branding were identified. Studio Tectonic was chosen to initiate a rebranding initiative that will allow for a cohesive approach to the NHA’s visual assets and the ability to better communicate the wholeness of the Heritage Area and the role that NFNHA plays in all its efforts.
