The rich and seldom-told history of Niagara Falls’ pivotal role on the Underground Railroad will be celebrated at the new Niagara Falls Underground Railroad Heritage Center, which is scheduled to open with a weekend of events starting May 4. “There is no other place like Niagara Falls,” said Seth Frankel, principal at Studio Tectonic in Boulder, Colo., who led the design team for the Heritage Center. “This is the narrow end of the funnel, which is where all the turbulence happens.”
